darkroom
Our privacy approach
Privacy by default
Every setting starts at its most private: directory visibility off, attendance hidden, dating discovery off, neutral notifications on. You choose what to share.
Data minimisation
We collect only what's needed to run darkroom: a sign-in email (never displayed), a pseudonymous handle, and what you choose to post. Regions are general areas only. Exact event venues are stored separately and shown only to approved attendees. No analytics trackers.
Guyana Data Protection Act 2023
Sexual orientation is sensitive personal data under the Act. We design to meet or exceed its requirements.
A data-protection impact assessment comes before dating or recording features launch.
Our breach-response target is to notify within 72 hours.
Honest limits
We do not promise complete anonymity. We cannot prevent screenshots or recordings made on other devices. Share with care.
Blocking
Blocking works in both directions: neither of you can see the other's messages, profile or presence.
Reporting
Reports carry a reason code. The following go down a high-risk path and are reviewed first: outing threats, doxxing, stalking, coercion and non-consensual intimate media.
How moderation works
Moderation is action-based, not identity-based. We act on what someone does, never on who they are.
